Exploring (desi) mental health
making an impact with therapy, advocacy & community.
We all feel it, but sometimes it can be overwhelming.
Stress doesn't have to be bad. It motivates us and keeps us going. But when it leads to discomfort in the body and affects our daily life, our self care (like our bathing, eating or sleeping) routine, you know it's time to manage it. Here are a list of few resources that can help you with your stress:
Understand your stress
Your Stress is a Bucket - it can be both positive and negative but it's important to recognise when the bucket is close to overflowing in order to empty it a little!
Breathing exercise
Box breathing is known as an antidote for anxiety and panic - moving from short fast breaths to slow meaningful ones. Make sure to sit upright, with your feet flat on the floor while doing this exercise!
Body Scanning
Sometimes, de-stressing is also about acknowledging the stress in our body and sitting with it for a bit. Yes, it's uncomfortable, but it can really help you understand your body in that moment and do activities that can help you relax that part. PS: start a 00:40 seconds to begin.
Body Scanning (Hindi)
